Visualsoft – Data Cabling Project

Scope

Since opening in 1998 Visualsoft have delivered cutting edge eCommerce solutions to their clients and have now built up a portfolio featuring over 1,000 websites, including some globally recognised brands.

The professional eCommerce company was named Company of the Year at the Teesside heat of the North East Business Awards 2015 in March. To celebrate this achievement Visualsoft pushed ahead with their proposed move to Visualsoft House in Princes Wharf, however, their new premises was in need of re-cabling.

Given the nature of their business Visualsoft are heavily reliant on technology and running speeds, meaning that the installation of a suitable network infrastructure for their premises was vital. Recognising this, they requested for a suitable cabling solution to be installed throughout their offices to ensure a reliable and future proof network for all of their communication requirements.

Visualsoft were keen to have 6 network points installed at each of the 97 floor ports in anticipation of growth and to allow staff members to move desk without needing to add new network points on a regular basis.

Solution

After liaising with Visualsoft we specked and installed Category 5e LSOH SCS, thus providing greater bandwidth and increased performance across the network.

We supplied two floor standing data cabinets and installed a total of 582no Category 5e RJ45 data outlets into 97no existing floor boxes for common data network and telecommunication applications, all components used came with a 25year warranty.

At each outlet position, our engineers terminated the cables onto Category 5e RJ45 modules, these modules were fixed into existing floor box data plates. The new cabling was concealed below the raised floor, loomed and secured to the building structure throughout, on leaving the containment the cables were tied in a neat and tidy manor before entering the floorbox.

Upon completion of the installation works, all of the Category 5e cabling and termination products were tested in accordance with TIA/EIA 568B, EN50173, EN50174 & ISO 11801 Standards.
