Castle Grange Technologies Prepare to Enter the Residential Market

Due to the emergence of ‘The Internet of Things’ and the expected growth in homeowners buying into the ‘Smart Home’ concept Castle Grange Technologies are offering their services to the residential market.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been a buzzword in the technology profession for the past two years with many industry experts suggesting it will change the way we live our lives.

What is IoT?

The development of the Internet giving everyday objects network connectivity, allowing them to send and receive data, this is often referred to as machine-to-machine communication. This essentially means you can control almost anything that you want to control from one device.

How will IoT affect you?

It gives you the option of turning your house into a Smart Home. If you own an existing android/tablet then it can be programmed to connect to anything that can receive communication. To put it into real terms you can have your home automated to complete the following actions (amongst many others) at the touch of a button:

  • Leaving work… Turn the heating on to ensure your home is warm by the time you arrive back.
  • Movie night… Set the ambience by closing the curtains and dimming the lights.
  • Bedtime… Power everything off in your home at once for total peace of mind.

Stephen Gibson, General Manager at Castle Grange Technologies: “We have supplied and installed data cabling and audio visual technology solutions to customers in the education, corporate, health and blue light markets for 12 years.
