A new state-of-the-art Innovation Centre has recently been built at Stockton’s £100m Northshore regeneration scheme. The Innovation Centre is managed by Teesside University and will offer tenants the full range of its business innovation and development services.
The three-storey, 36,000 sq ft building will be home to new and growing small and medium sized firms in the digital, scientific and creative sectors. Therefore, the Innovation Centre required a future proofed network infrastructure.
Given the nature of the businesses that will occupy the Innovation Centre we understood from the start that Category 6A cabling was necessary. It provides the exceptional performance required to support extremely high speed applications.
After receiving the final sitemaps and conducting the Aruba heatmap we were able to see the quantities involved:
350 Floor Boxes (with dual presentation 6C outlets)
26 Wall Mount Outlets
10 Multi-media Outlets
16 CCTV
12 Door Access Outlets
19 Single High Level Wi-Fi Outlets
4 42u Floor Standing Data Cabinets
To ensure the job was completed within the necessary timeframe we assigned six of our engineers to the job, one of whom was the lead engineer and was responsible for overseeing the project and liaising with the site manager.
Upon completion of the installation works, 100 percent of the Category 6A cabling and termination products were tested in accordance with TIA/EIA 568B, EN50173, EN50174 & ISO 11801 standards using a Fluke DTX series level III hand held tester.
Site Manager, Esh Build – We had the pleasure of working with Castle Grange Technologies on a recent Project that was completed in early August this year.
They proved to be very professional in what they did, completing all works within program and to a high standard.
There were no accidents on site and all work was pre planned via all parties concerned in site meetings between main and all sub-contractors on a daily and weekly basis.
The scope of their works, consisted of the installation of the network infrastructure which was in category 6a Ethernet cabling which was to be used for internet, telephones, CCTV and door access within the project.
All cables ran back to one central server room where they were housed in 47u data cabinets.
Dean Smith, Senior Engineer for Castle Grange had an excellent ‘Can do Attitude’ to all work whether it be supervision or installation throughout the project, meaning liaising with Dean on a regular basis was a pleasure.
To Whom It May Concern I would highly recommend Castle Grange Technologies for any future Work!
